6 week paced childbirth class, small group, in-person classes.
Meets August 11, 18, 25 and September 8, 15 and 22
This course is carefully curated evidence based information that prepares you and your partner for the birth process. Every aspect of this course has been thoughtfully designed so you and your partner feel confident and prepared for the birth of your baby.
This course is more of a workshop than a class. We start by sharing important information and then put it into action. Discussions and planning worksheets help you and your partner put what you have learned into reality. We practice relaxation or birth positions in each session, so you can learn by doing. Laughter and snack time are key elements!
The supportive environment gives you an opportunity to share your joys, fears and worries. We form a support network and check in with each other after prenatal appointments.
Topics include:
Nutrition and Exercise for Pregnancy
Stages of Labor
Optimal Fetal Positioning
Relaxation Techniques
Understanding Induction
Birth Plan Development
Comfort Measures
Pharmaceutical Pain Management Options
Pushing Positions
Baby Medical Care at the Hospital
Maneuvering Early Postpartum
