Talk and Book Signing: 80 Years of Peace

In this talk, Keith Lowe will explore some of the ideals that came out of the war, and how they clashed with the harsh realities of the postwar political landscape. Drawing on 20 years of research into the aftermath of the war, he will show how people’s hopes and dreams were betrayed at every level – locally, nationally, internationally and globally; but also how, despite it all, a new and better world did eventually emerge from the ashes of this terrible conflict.
