𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐢𝐫 is a new version of 𝐉𝐚𝐤𝐨𝐛 𝐁𝐮𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐧’s Danish Music Award-winning work Song & Wind, originally composed for classical choir and jazz orchestra.

In this performance, the Danish vocal ensemble Concert Clemens joins forces with Art Ensemble Aarhus, comprising some of Denmark's most versatile improvisers and not least Buchanan himself on flugelhorn in a deeply personal and colorful, poetic and evocative musical encounter.

𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐢𝐫 reflects on the human connection to nature and is inspired by the poems by South African writer Iain S. Thomas. Drawing on themes such as hope, doubt, time, and eternity, Buchanan has created atmospheric music rooted in the landscapes of Mols, Denmark, as well as the Swedish forest region on Kornhult.
