This is a drop-in only activity, tickets do not need to be purchased online.

Drop-in any time between 11am - 2pm to join workshop wiz Sophie for a hands-on, nature-inspired family workshop where you'll learn the magical art of wet felting to create beautiful British bird eggs nestled in cozy wool nests. This creative session is suitable for all ages and offers a unique opportunity to connect with traditional crafts and the natural world.

Using pure wool—featuring a core of fleece from Sophie's own flock of sheep raised in the scenic village of Commondale—we'll shape and sculpt delicate egg forms through the wet felting process. The transformation begins with soft wool, a little soapy water, and the warmth and motion of your hands. As you roll and shape the fibres, they begin to fuse and shrink, creating a firm, egg-like form that’s both tactile and beautiful.

Once your felted eggs are complete, you'll craft a snug little nest for them to rest in—using a variety of natural fibres and textures to mimic the look and feel of real bird nests. Along the way, we’ll talk about the birds that inspired our colours and shapes, adding a gentle educational element to the experience.
This workshop is perfect for families looking to spend quality time together, explore wool-based craft, and leave with a unique keepsake that celebrates British wildlife and sustainable materials.

Cost £3 per person
