Cyanotype is a 19th-century photographic process that uses sunlight to capture the delicate shapes and details of natural elements. By working directly with pressed botanicals, you'll not only learn a beautiful alternative printing technique but also deepen your appreciation for the intricate forms found in the natural world. Whether you're an artist, a nature lover, or simply curious, this workshop offers a peaceful, creative way to engage with both the outdoors and your own creativity. No experience necessary—just bring your love for nature.
What you'll learn
- Brief introduction of Hannah and how she came across the world of Cyanotype Printing.
- A brief introduction about the history of Cyanotype printing and how it became popularised to the art we see today.
- Materials and botanicals provided and a small demonstration of how to place objects upon the paper, talking about placements and mishaps that could happen e.g. miss placement, blurring, under exposing.
- Exploration to play and explore techniques before moving on to final pieces.
- Creation of a set of 4 gift cards and an A5 print.
All materials are provided within the workshop to create 4 gift cards & an A5 print to take away.
