The iconic hit of nostalgia audiences have been waiting for
Forged in a share house home-studio somewhere in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs over two years of lockdown, Playlunch is the brainchild and passion project of Liam Bell. Creating a cocktail of late ’90s and early 2000s Aussie nostalgia and taking inspiration from retro dance music icons, Playlunch is pioneering a new flavour of bangers altogether: ‘Bogan Funk’.
Since their debut in April 2022, Playlunch have exploded at a rapid rate across both the Melbourne music scene and now also nationally (and internationally!) in 2024.
Releasing their debut album in November 2023 titled Who’s Ready For A Good Time?, Playlunch have soared to new heights with viral Tik Tok videos, high rotation triple j plays and massive sell out shows across the country. Bringing their comedic, yet serious live show to the people, the band have become a staple across the Australian festival circuit. They have generated a massive following all over the country and are now one of the hottest emerging acts on the scene as they charge ahead to releasing their sophomore album in 2025.
Expect a whole new flavour of bangers and a big hit of nostalgia under a tropical Darwin sky.
