55: Stacked Wonky
Advertisement
An unlikely duet for Ernie, 18, and Gerard, 73. There are 55 years between them.
Both are highly skilled performers. Ernie is a boxer, singer and National Youth Dance Company alumnus. Gerard arrived at Stacked Wonky after working with the likes of Improbable Theatre, Punchdrunk, Pina Bausch etc.
They like and trust each other.
The duet is Ernie's idea and yet to be made.
He says, "I'm interested in exploring touch, strength and burdens: for example, how does an old person approaching the end of life touch a young person, and how does a young person touch an old person. In my world, physical meetings between young and old are hard to come by."
It could be a roaming duet that becomes static.
It could be Gerard is roaming with his "in memoriam" bench looking for a good spot. Yet to be decided.
