They will conduct demonstrations of various tools, with plenty of time for questions and for you to try tools yourself. This includes and intro to the BCS walk behind tractor as well. General admission: $5. Free for BFTP/ALDI. Lunch will be provided. Big thanks to Johnny's Seeds for supporting this event!

About the Farm: In the fall of 2015, a farmer told Dreaming Out Loud (DOL) about some land that was available for stewardship. Kelly Miller Farm is in Ward 7, located behind the Kelly Miller Middle School. This is also the location of their farmers' market, which they host every year on Saturdays from June to November. The land is not only for farming! It's for bringing people together. They host two festivals on this land to bring the community together, one in the spring and one in the fall. They also provide community garden beds that allow residents of Ward 7 to grow their own food and flowers.
About Dreaming Out Loud: Dreaming Out Loud has been rebuilding urban, community-based food systems, helping to increase access to healthy food and improve community health, developing low-income entrepreneurs and cooperatives, and training at-risk adult residents for sustainable, family-supporting wages since 2008.
**This Field Day is based on work that is supported by the Healthy Schools, Healthy Communities Lab at American University and Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education.
