The Energy of Change and Peace

Please join Matthew Daniell, guiding teacher of North Shore Insight Meditation Center, for a half-day meditation program in Salisbury, Mass.
The energy of mindfulness teaches us to observe change: It calms us when we attend to the breath, a footstep, or the sound of a chirping bird. It shows us wisdom when we see that everything is changing in the present moment and let go of painful fixations. At a fundamental level, energy is change, and change is energy. In this retreat we will use traditional mindfulness tools to explore all of life as energy, as change. This shift in perspective frees us from grasping at ideas and emotions that themselves are changing energies, and moves us into a wider inner energy of compassion, space, and ease. We can learn to give ourselves and others a break, abide in the energy of peace more often, and live in a way that is grounded, responsive, and fresh.
This program will combine reflection, guided and silent meditation periods, and time for discussion at the end. All levels of experience are welcome.
Matthew Daniell has been practicing Buddhist meditation since the 1980s, including over a decade in Asia, where he practiced Zen intensively in Japan, Tibetan Buddhism in India, and Insight meditation in Burma, India, and Thailand.
