Model Airplane Day

Learn about aerodynamics, construction techniques, and flight adjustments as you build and launch your own miniature flying machine. A rubber band-powered, propeller-driven kit is provided with the optional materials fee, but we'll also fire up Hacksburg's laser cutter to craft ultra-precise paper airplanes (inspired by The Great International Paper Airplane Book) and demonstrate 3D printed, hand-powered helicopters and pull copters!

Whether you're reliving childhood memories or experiencing the joy of handmade flight for the first time, this workshop promises hours of engineering fun culminating in a friendly flying competition.

Attendees under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
