Join the Cal Poly Alumni — San Luis Obispo Community for a sweet celebration of National Ice Cream Day with “Sundaes on Sunday,” held at the Cal Poly Creamery (Building 18A on Mount Bishop Road).
The event begins at 11 a.m. with a behind-the-scenes, student-led tour of the Creamery, where attendees will learn how Cal Poly’s student-made ice cream is crafted. Following the tour, student managers from the Cal Poly Dairy Unit will share how Learn by Doing plays a central role in managing a herd of more than 200 Holstein and Jersey cows — and what it takes to make ice cream from cow to cone.
Tickets are $10 and include one pint of freshly made Cal Poly ice cream.
The event is open to alumni, family and supporters age 8 and older. Space is limited, and closed-toe shoes are required.
