Burning River Endurance Run & Relay - Course Marking - Cascade Metro Park

We will meet in the parking lot for the Overlook area on Sackett Ave. We will be marking/flagging the course from Schumacher - thru the overlook and on to the finish. A lot of this will be along streets. Please wear bright clothes. Bring a hammer! The effort will involve easy running (jogging) - hiking is welcome too. Other areas may be assigned depending on need. It is also likely that some teams will be using a car to mark/check sections of the course (so maybe clean it out beforehand? 🙂).

At the beginning of the session we will review how to course mark. We will try to pair someone new to marking with someone who knows what they are doing - and knows the trails/course. A lot of the time when marking we are hiking, so if you are not running or worried that we’ll be too fast for you, you have nothing to worry about. If we have a large turnout, we will split into small groups and cover as much of the course as we can.

Please bring a light backpack to carry supplies, a hammer, long phillips screwdriver, and a staple gun if you have one. You will also want bug spray, sunscreen, water/sports drink to hydrate, and comfortable hiking/running shoes.
