Journey to the Centre of the Mud

See Montrose from a different perspective on a guided walk across the mud!

The Montrose Basin isn't always full of water - at particularly low tides, you can walk right out into the middle of it! (if safely accompanied by an expert ranger).

There are only a limited number of days a year this walk is possible.

Please note this is quite a strenuous walk, with very variable terrain (the mudflats are sometimes watery, sometimes very sticky!).

Wear wellies and warm clothes. Minimum age: 12.

We will get in touch as soon as we can if adverse weather conditions mean we need to postpone or cancel. Refunds can be arranged if needed.
