We are honoured to welcome one of South Korea’s most prominent and influential contemporary poets, Kim Hyesoon, to Norwich to discuss her Griffin Poetry Prize-winning collection, Autobiography of Death, now published for the first time in the UK by And Other Stories.
Translated into English by Hyesoon’s long-term collaborator Don Mee Choi, Autobiography of Death showcases her brilliantly innovative and radically feminist writing. It consists of forty-nine poems, each poem representing a single day during which the spirit roams after death before it enters the cycle of reincarnation.
Hyesoon will be in conversation with Professor Cecilia Rossi.
Please note: This event takes place at the Enterprise Centre, University of East Anglia, Norwich Research Park, Norwich, Norfolk, NR4 7TJ.
Programmed by the British Centre for Literary Translation and supported by the National Centre for Writing.
