From acoustic songbird reveries to rollicking jubilees, award-winning songwriter Jessica Malone takes listeners on a musical journey across retro soul, folk and Americana terrain. Embracing her Northern California roots, Malone blends soulful lyrics with an earnest sound, bringing the landscapes of her home to life with insightful and honest songwriting. Her melodic and captivating vocals have been compared to Joni Mitchell and Nicki Bluhm, with a magic all her own. Nat Keefe (Hot Buttered Rum) describes Malone as “the real deal. Jessica has an honest voice and sings to connect, to comfort, to celebrate.”
With the upcoming release of her “Gold Flowers of the West” album, Malone takes a fresh approach to a classic style. A compilation of songs about the many types of love, “Gold Flowers” is wild with rich tones of dreamy wanderlust. Laced with addictive melodies and plenty of character, her new songs embrace the aesthetic of soulful southern anthems.
Three-time SAMMIE (Sacramento Music Awards) winner – for Artist of the Year, Singer-songwriter of the Year, and Folk/Bluegrass Artist of the Year - Malone performs at festivals such as BottleRock and Napa Earth, and prominent venues including The Mondavi Center and The Harris Center while opening for the likes of Arlo Guthrie and John Paul White.
Malone will be accompanied by violinist Giorgi Khokhobashvili of Jazz Gitan fame, who has been with her every step of the way, weaving his gypsy sorcery through the sound.
