Summer Concert - Verses Along the Way

Each year, we try to surprise both ourselves and our audience with something new. This year our programme includes the wonderful words of two literary giants separated by centuries and brought together by two inspiring American composers of the 20th century.

We will perform Randall Thompson’s Frostiana, from the poems of Robert Frost and Shakespeare’s, Songs and Sonnets, set to music by George Shearing.

During the concert, you’ll also hear some beautiful solo pieces. As well as two favourites of the choir: Ballade to the Moon and The Road Home.

We will be joined by soprano Ai Horton, who will sing for us and we will be accompanied by double bass player Jovan Filipović and our own choir resident pianist, Eduardo Proença, under the direction of our conductor, Sanda Audere.
