SPLASHmob: Joy is a Home with Many Rooms

The InFrinGinG Dance Festival, a celebrated annual event in Nanaimo, champions diversity, inclusion, culture and community through contemporary dance and interdisciplinary art.

The Festival creates space for shared understanding and expression, welcoming participants of all identities to engage in, or witness, movement, sound, storytelling, and creative exploration.

The Festival’s annual, closing event, the SPLASHmob is created this year by Sid Ryan Eliers and titled, Joy is a Home with Many Rooms. It is meant to be radically welcoming.

For the last week folx from the entire community, 2SLGBTQIA+ folks, allies, youth, elders, and more, have joyfully participated in the creation of a collaborative movement based performance highlighting that there is a ‘place’ for all of us on these extraordinary Snuneymuxw homelands, in this City, Nanaimo.
