Soapbox Derby (Ages 8 - 12)

STEM driven. Rev up your creativity, become an automotive engineer, and get ready to race in the Soapbox Derby! Campers will design, build, and test their soapbox cars, applying physics and engineering principles to create the ultimate gravity-powered racer. Using the Engineering Design Process, campers will learn and apply the laws of motion, exploring how force, friction, and aerodynamics affect speed and performance. Imagine, create, and improve their designs, transforming ideas into working soapbox cars. Build a car fit for a hero, incorporating creativity and problem-solving to make their vehicles fast and unique! Inspire the next generation of innovators with a blend of science, engineering, and hands-on fun for 3rd to 8th graders. Campers will end the week with an exciting race day, putting their designs to the test in a thrilling competition!

This year's summer camp drop-off and pick-up location will be in the Technology Building, at the entrance of the LSUS Collaborative.
