The first ever Skye Cello Week brings together top professionals from the field including Natalie Haas (Alasdair Fraser & Natalie Haas, HAAS), Alice Allen (GAIA, LYRE LYRE, Patsy Reid, Alasdair Savage and more), and Trish Strain (Educator, Cask Quartet, GFW). They will explore the cello not only in its traditional role as an accompaniment to the fiddle in Scottish dance music, but as a melody instrument in its own right. Wrap yourselves in the cello’s warm sonic embrace: from its haunting solo voice to the rich harmonic depth of many cellos played together, this will be an immersive musical experience to remember.
