Bob Recupero, “Cooper” guitar and vocals.
Bob’s early musical interest was sparked by cowboy songs,
gunfighter ballads, as well as singer-songwriters and Rock &
Roll.
The artists covered in one of his performances are wide
ranging: Hank Williams, Steve Earle, Lyle Lovett, J.J. Cale,
James Taylor, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Robert Johnson, The
Beatles, The Eagles, Stephen Stills, John Prine, Danny O’Keefe, Little Feat, CCR, Rolling Stones, Townes Van Zant, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, Jackson Browne, ZZ Top, Grateful Dead and Paul Simon. Gunfighter ballads and cowboy songs dating back to the 1800s. Some jazz from the 20s & 30s; Duke
Ellington, Fats Waller, Irving Berlin etc. The list goes on.
Bob was a founding member of DOWNPOUR, making his
living playing professionally with that group from the early
70’s into the mid 80’s.
In addition to solo performances, Bob plays with Mark Lavoie
in the duo ‘Cooper & Lavoie’
They have been called ‘Local Legends’ as well as ‘The Balladeer and The Bluesman.
Bob also plays with guitarist Michael Corn as ‘Cooper & Corn’
