The Great Southeast Pollinator Census (GSPC) is a citizen
scientist project created by University of Georgia in 2017 with the
goals of creating pollinator habitats, increasing entomological
literacy of citizens, and generating useful data about pollinator
populations. Two days every August are designated GSPC data
collection dates and this year those dates are August 22-23,
2025.
In 2024, Florida joined the project and UF/IFAS Extension is
committed to supporting the census and wants to teach you how
to recognize pollinator categories and submit data.
Join us on Friday, August 22nd at 9 a.m., 12 p.m., or 3:30 p.m. at
the raised beds outside the East Classroom.
We will go over instructions at the designated start time then
perform a 15-minute pollinator count.
