Lang Lang performs Rhapsody in Blue

Three of the most celebrated musicians of our time—pianist Lang Lang, soprano Renée Fleming, and trumpeter and composer Wynton Marsalis with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra—will perform at Interlochen as part of a new summer series of extraordinary performances.
This trio of iconic artists, who regularly perform to sold-out audiences on the world’s most prestigious stages, will appear at Interlochen in consecutive summers, beginning in 2025 with a landmark performance by Lang Lang on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025.
Hailed by The New York Times as “the hottest artist on the classical music planet,” Lang Lang will join the World Youth Symphony Orchestra and conductor Cristian Măcelaru for a powerful performance of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. The evening will also feature works by legendary Hollywood film composer John Williams, performed by the Interlochen Philharmonic and the World Youth Symphony Orchestra under the batons of Măcelaru and Louis Langrée.
