***CHEYENNE RIB COOKOFF***



Attention all amateur pitmasters and lovers of ribs!



On June 21 during Summer on the Streets, Cheyenne will be hosting a rib cookoff competition as part of the event. The competition will feature some of Cheyenne’s best amateur pitmasters vying for bragging rights as having the best ribs in town! All proceeds will be going to benefit Cheyenne Needs.



Contestants: Register at Paris West’s webpage under the “Events” tab. The entry fee is $20. Additionally, each contestant will be required to comply with guidelines established by the Laramie County Public Health Department, such as use of thermometers, temperatures for serving food, utensils, handwashing stations, etc. These guidelines will be provided to each contestant via email upon registration. You will be responsible for transporting your grills/smokers downtown and purchasing your own meats, rubs, sauces, etc. Tasting will occur between 1:00pm and 3:00pm, with the winner announced around 4:30pm. Since tasting begins at 1:00pm and ribs can take several hours to slow smoke, you will need to plan accordingly to ensure that your ribs are ready to be served from your smoker at your respective station during that time. Tasters will indicate their favorite ribs on their respective tickets, which will be tallied to determine the champion. A trophy will also be awarded to the winner.



Tasters: You will purchase your tickets on the day of the event. Each ticket is $20 and will entitle you to one sample per competitor. Once you have finished sampling you will indicate your favorite ribs from among the contestants and turn in to where tickets are being sold. COME HUNGRY!
