Ekphrastic Writing with Jessie Van Eerden

Join Preston County native and luminous author Jessie Van Eerden for a creative writing workshop in historic Center Hall. A writing class for all abilities and levels, “Ekphrastic Writing” will focus on writing about art. From painting to music to quilting to photography, art can offer us inspiration for generating new creative work and can provide a lens for looking deeply at the world and at our own lives. Together, we’ll read and discuss various poetry and prose examples of ekphrasis and will draw on those examples as we write about art that is meaningful to us.
