Pre-registration is required for this event.
Join us for a magical summer evening exploring the world of fireflies! As the sun sets and the sky darkens, we’ll take a leisurely walk to observe these glowing beetles in action and learn about how and why they light up the night. Discover the different species of fireflies found at Seven Islands, their incredible life cycle, and the role they play in our ecosystem. This program is a great way to experience nature’s light show while learning something new.
This program is recommended for families and curious learners of all ages. Please meet at the Bluebird Barn at 8:30 PM. We’ll walk approximately 2 miles on a combination of paved and unpaved trails with gentle elevation. For more details about the route we will take, read the Essential Eligibility Criteria. The program will begin with a short talk at the barn before we head out into the field to look for fireflies.
The cost of this program is $15 for adults and $8 for kids under 12.
Please come prepared with good walking shoes, a water bottle, and insect repellent. Flashlights with red or dim settings are encouraged for safety but should be used sparingly to protect firefly viewing. Pets are not allowed on programs, except service animals.
