Pike's Pond Wildlife Exploration

The historic Pike's Pond is a year-round wildlife hotspot made accessible to everyone through Pleasant Valley's All Persons Trail. Search for signs of resident wildlife including beavers, songbirds, deer, ducks, herons, squirrels, chipmunks, fish, frogs, salamanders and more. You'll also learn some of the fascinating history of Pleasant Valley and the pond itself, including the story of the 2021 microburst that brought dramatic change to the area. Bring your own binoculars or borrow a loaner pair.
This program welcomes participants of all abilities and takes place in its entirety on Pleasant Valley's All Persons Trail. This trail is 0.4 miles out-and-back (0.8 miles total) with a 0-7% grade and surfaced with crushed stone. Benches and multi-use seating areas are available at regular intervals along the trail. An all-terrain Freedom Chair and Rollator are available to borrow at no cost; call the Pleasant Valley front desk to reserve, or request this equipment at the front desk on arrival.
