Chilson Pond Hovercraft Racing #2
Advertisement
We are excited to announce the return of hovercraft racing in the USA!
After a hiatus in 2024, two racing events are now planned. Mark your calendars and start preparing now!
June 14/15
Sept 13/14
Both racing events will be held at Chilson Pond, part of the Brighton Recreation Area in Brighton, Michigan, just off of Chilson Road. Brighton is approximately 55 miles west of Detroit, Michigan.
Never raced before? Come give it a try! It's great fun and a great group of people, so bring your Scat, Starcruisers, UH, or whatever you have. Just ensure you and your craft meet the safety requirements found here: [ https://whf.hovercraft.org.uk/download.php]( https://whf.hovercraft.org.uk/download.php...)
Limited cruising/ rides will be available before and after racing, so regardless of what kind of hovercraft you have, bring it to Chilson!
The Bishop Lake campground we typically use will not be available for the June event, so other accommodations will need to be made. One option is a rustic campground nearby (Appleton Campground). Bishop Lake campground will be available for the September races.
The Hoverclub of America website will be updated soon to add these events. Feel free to contact me for any questions.
Thanks!
Terry Chapman
