Felted Wool Shawl Collar/Scarf Workshop at Shaker Village

This workshop will teach you the techniques of wet felting and needle felting, added with your imagination, to create a fun and unique shawl collar. We’ll be using hand dyed Merino wool, mohair, cashmere, and silk by local fiber artist Betsey Leslie of Ewes To You from New Gloucester, ME, who will also be your instructor.
Starting with creating a large wet felted circle and then embellishing the design with needle felted accents. Then wet felting with soap and water moves the wool design and locks the fibers together to make a flat impressionistic backdrop. The circle will be cut into a spiral and a wool ruffle will be added to complete the piece.
This workshop is great for beginners as well as experienced felters.
All materials are provided. Bring your imagination with you and leave with a piece of wearable art!
