28th Annual Trip to Tipp - Cycle, Walk or Run β In Memory of Lorraine Shanahan
On Saturday June 28th we will gather in Thurles, County Tipperary not just for a day of sport and celebration but to honour the memory of Lorraine Shanahan a cherished member of our family whose spirit continues to inspire us.
Trip to Tipp is more than an event. It is a tribute. A gathering of hearts and legs in motion - cycling, running and rolling to support Vision Ireland and the thousands of people they help each year who are blind or vision impaired.
Join us at Thurles Sarsfields GAA Club for a day of cycling, running, music and family fun.
Whether you are a seasoned cyclist a casual runner or simply looking for a great day out with the family there is something for everyone.

Our Story
Twenty nine years ago my family and I started the Trip to Tipp cycle as a way to bring people together through sport community and purpose. From the very beginning Lorraine was at the heart of it all a key member of our organising team and a beloved sister and daughter whose passion and dedication helped shape the event into what it is today.
In 2015 we tragically lost Lorraine. Her passing left a space that can never be filled but her spirit her kindness and her love for this community continue to guide us.
That is why we have chosen to carry on Trip to Tipp in her memory. Every year we ride and run not just for the challenge but to honour Lorraine's legacy and support a cause she believed in deeply Vision Ireland.
On June 28th I will be taking part in this year's event in Thurles alongside my family and many others who knew and loved Lorraine. Whether it is 120km on the bike or a 5km family roll every kilometre is a tribute to her and a step toward helping others live fuller more independent lives.
