Welcome, fálita, to The Witches of The Blackberry Field, Summer Soltice Cèilidh. On this auspicious occasion we will be inviting the Goddess Áine, of Ireland, one of the most famous Queen of the Sidhe, to bless our lives, and bring about the new season of prosperity.
There is no charge for this event, but a suggested donation of $10 is welcome, which goes towards equipment, and rental fees for our next afternoon Fire Festival of Lúnasa/Lughnasad. So be sure to follow along, because August is coming fast.
Please message Krystalynne O'Hagan to confirm your attendance, and get the address of the park. You can reach her on Facebook. Generally we appreciate the privacy to avoid trolls and party crashers.
This is a family friendly event, so please feel free to bring toys for the kids; bubbles, streamers, hoola hoops, and outdoor toys are suggested.
You will want to bring:
1. Chalice to toast at the ritual
2. Fold out chairs to sit down or a picnic blanket
3. Sunscreen and hat if it's hot
4. Wear your favorite ritual robes, or flowery sundress, or kilt if you have one
5. A water bottle to stay hydrated
6. A food item for the potluck picnic
7. A picnic basket, or bag with a mess kit (utensils, plates, and napkins)
8. A good heart, and open mind
We want to thank everyone who came out to Lá Bealtaine, and we thank you all for your patience. We always arrive early to setup. I was there personally at 11:30am, and there was just one person who was late due to child car seat complications. So this time around we will be starting the ceremony at 2:00pm sharp and we won't be waiting on anyone who's late. Guests start arriving at 1pm. If you're late you can just join the circle, because we don't cast circles in our rituals. So just take a place beside someone quietly, and you're welcome to participate in the circle.
Generally at a Cèildh everyone brings a short story, poem, song or talent to share. If you have something, such as a story, from your family, you're welcome to share it.
If you would like to volunteer for a ritual role, because you like participating in rituals, and being apart of the magic contact the main organizer, Bramble Mother Krystalynne, and she will talk to you about what you would like to do.
A little bit about our community, and tradition:
The Witches of The Blackberry Field, is primarily comprised of mystics, artists, writers, bohemians, and talented folks of all kinds. We come together in the spirit of community, and good will to provide open circle events that are welcoming, safe, inclusive, and educational experiences for all alternative spiritual seekers. Often we are conflated with Wiccan traditions, however we are a new and evolving tradition founded in 2009, that is a living tradition. We don't preform, Drawing Down The Moon, The Great Rite, The Five Fold Kiss, nor do we use ritual flogging, or preform Skyclad. Our tradition was originally founded by a group of women, who wanted to provide women's healing circles in our community. We still maintain that tradition at the heart of our practice, and continue to celebrate both Full Moons, and Fire Festivals with men and women, who prefer alternative earth based, spiritual cultures. Our Bramble Mother, Máthair SCO, has been a practicing mystic, and Witch for 27 years, but like most she has been a Witch all her life for 41 years. Her formal training began at the age of 15, when she was mentored by a family friend. She continued her studies with various groups, and covens over the years before finally in 2009, founding the WBBF with other Witches who were looking for an alternative non-Wiccan path. She continues to teach classes, and mentor Witches, and share her passion for art, history, and magic with the magical community.

The WBBF, is an international Witchcraft tradition that has existed since 2009. We teach a variety of magical disciplines from pan-Gaelic, Slavic, and Greco-Egyptian Witchcraft. We support and include LGBTQ and non-binary members, and do not discriminate against ethnicity, gender, disability, sexual orientation, or culture. We include all well intentioned people in our tradition, and promote a community that is respectful and kind. Thank you.
To all Witches, and magical folks out there, Pagan or what have you; you are always welcome to find a seat at our fireside, and community among our people. May Àine be favourable, and gracious to you, and your family this summer season. Sméar dubh beannachtaí. Blackberry blessings
