2025 Center on Irregular Warfare and Armed Groups Maritime Symposium

Registration is now open for the U.S. Naval War College’s (USNWC) Center on Irregular Warfare and Armed Groups (CIWAG) 2025 Maritime Symposium, “Shadows & Sabotage.” Co-sponsored by the Naval War College Foundation (NWCF), the symposium will run June 23–25, 2025. The main sessions will be held June 23–24 at the Wyndham Hotel Newport and are open to the public. The final day, June 25, will feature an invitation-only writing workshop at the USNWC. The symposium will examine the increasing use of “Shadow Fleet” vessels to evade sanctions, transport illicit goods, and conduct covert maritime activities, all of which pose significant challenges to global security and the maritime domain.
