Tim Olin is an Associate Professor of History at Central College in Iowa. He was awarded his Ph.D. in history from Purdue in 2015. His book, The Banat of Temesvar: Borderland Colonization in the Habsburg Monarchy, was published in 2025 by Stanford University Press. Based on archival research in Austria, Hungary, Romania, and Serbia, the book explores issues of migration, assimilation, and inter-ethnic relations on the Habsburg frontier. He has also recently published articles on the treatment of Roma (βGypsiesβ) and Jews in eighteenth century Banat in Eighteenth-Century Studies and Shofar: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Jewish Studies respectively.
