On Saturday, June 28, we're hosting the First Annual Renee's Run and Walk—a family-friendly memorial 5K in honor of our beloved friend, Renee Giles, who passed away from uterine sarcoma in 2024. Renee was a passionate supporter of the Riverside baseball program, a dedicated volunteer, and a constant source of love and light in our community.
We chose this date because June is Uterine Cancer Awareness Month, and we're committed to honoring Renee's life while raising awareness for this often-overlooked disease.
All proceeds from this event will support the Renee Giles Memorial Scholarship, awarded each year to a Riverside senior student athlete carrying forward Renee's legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering team spirit.
If you can't attend the run but still want to support Renee’s scholarship fund, we'd be so grateful for your donation. Venmo @riversidesportshof or cash or check donations can be made the day of the race. Checks can be mailed to:

Every dollar helps us celebrate Renee's memory and support the next generation of student-athletes she cared so deeply about.
Again, this is an open 5K run and walk. Participants do not have to run, and can complete as much of the course as they like.
