Every heroβs journey includes trials β both seen and unseen.
For many veterans and their families, that journey continues long after service ends.
At Ease is a free, community-based event created to offer space for healing, connection, and rest.
ποΈ June 23 | 5:30-8pm
π Location: Harwood Nature Center at the Lawrence Wetlands Preserve (Sultana Education Foundation): 301 S. Mill St., Chestertown, MD, 21620
ποΈ Free β’ Ages 16+
We begin with a social hour β a chance to gather with other veterans, spouses, children and stepchildren ages 16+, to share space and support in a relaxed environment.
Then, Vance Row of Yoga Rescue will lead a talk on PTSD, hypervigilance, and the ongoing mental health challenges faced by veterans and those who love them β and how yoga and meditation can be powerful tools for regulating the nervous system, releasing tension, and reclaiming a sense of safety in the body.
Youβll be guided through a trauma-sensitive yoga practice, designed for all levels, that emphasizes choice, grounding, and gentle movement.
Weβll close with iRest meditation, a research-supported practice that helps with sleep, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and chronic stress. iRest is simple and accessible β you can lie down, close your eyes, and be guided toward deep rest and inner calm.
This event is an invitation to pause, reconnect, and return β to your breath, your body, your people, and your path forward.
Presented by:
Slack Tide Yoga Studio β’ Yoga Rescue β’ For All Seasons Mental Health Service β’ VAMSA β’ Piney Grove Events β’ Sultana Education Foundation
Made possible by the Maryland Department of Health's Behavioral Health Administration
ποΈ Free to attend β space is limited
