A Gorgeous 7 mile walk around Haytor Rocks, West of Exeter.

Please bring a picnic/evening meal for the sunset and Full Moonrise spot, I'll be bringing a lovely Curry in a Thermos Tub.

Where possible, please arrange a car share as we could get parking issues.
Please Use either the Grid Ref or What3Words location to find the meeting point of the start of the walk (and Parking)

Starting at the above location, We walk downhill and join the old Granite Tramway (built in 1820), we follow this for a walk around Yarner Wood. Exiting the Woods we rejoin Dartmoor and walk up Black Hill and across to Smallacombe Rocks, then to Haytor Rocks for our food at the Sunset spot.

We should get to the rocks in time for Sunset and we will be hanging around there to eat our food.
While we eat and wait for the Full Moon to rise from the Sea, it could start getting cold, so you may also want to bring a hot drink and some extra layers.

Sunset time is 20:46.
Full Moonrise time 21:08.
This exact time of the Full Moon (Corn Moon) at its fullest is 08:54

Catching the Sunset and then Full Moonrise means we will be walking back in the Dark, so you may want to bring a torch for the last bit back down to the cars.

I expect us to be back at the cars between 21:45 and 22:00.

This walk does include walking through Cattle, so please be ready for this, especially as they could also be at the Sunset location. This also means the walk isn't suitable for dogs.

Disclaimer: I am not qualified in first aid so people are taking these walks at their own risk.
