The Workshop

Your tutor, Julie, is looking forward to meeting you and says: β€œIn the workshop you will be stitching onto fabric with boro and sashiko stitching to make this beautiful Japanese inspired drawstring bag. Lining and a drawstring braid will be provided to complete the bag. The bag is completely hand stitched. (for the purpose of time, the top and bottom components will be already attached, and the inner lining will be prepared ready for you to insert).

During the session you will be guided through the stitch techniques and sashiko templates will be available if desired to guide your pattern. Heat erasable pens will be available to copy patterns onto the fabric.

At the end of the day, you will take away a beautiful lined Japanese inspired drawstring bag.” Somewhere to keep your treasures …
What is the cost?

Β£75 + Β£1.40 card fee This includes all the materials needed to make your drawstring bag and refreshments during the day (excluding lunch)

How many places are available?

To ensure the quality of your personal experience, the group size is limited to 8.

What are the timings?

This is a relaxed, tactile, full-day running from 10am to 4pm.

Our purple front door will be open from 9.30am so we can welcome you in, you can get to meet Julie and your fellow crafters and grab a cuppa before you start.

What skills are needed?

No experience is necessary. You will be using needles, thread, gorgeous materials and heat erasable pens.
