Laugh Along with the Wit and Mischief of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing

Hills Youth Theatre invites you to a vibrant 1920s-inspired production of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing this August in Stirling. Set on a relaxed post-war country estate, this adaptation combines the elegance of The Great Gatsby with the lively humour of Kenneth Branagh’s iconic film, creating a cheeky, mischievous, and celebratory atmosphere.

This rendition highlights the timeless themes of love, lies and gossip, drawing clear parallels to our modern day. At its heart is Beatrice, often hailed as Shakespeare’s best female character, whose sharp wit and fiery exchanges with Benedick steal the show. The production also emphasises the intrigue of matchmaking, the danger of gossip and lies and the burden of maintaining social status.

Our talented senior students, aged 15-18, bring a fresh perspective to this classic comedy. From the captivating verbal spars between Beatrice and Benedick to Don John’s brooding disdain as the ultimate party crasher, every moment is crafted to entertain.

Don’t miss this sassy and engaging celebration of love, laughter, and the art of willful and accidental misinterpretation — a theatrical experience that promises to charm audiences of all ages!
