Join our experienced sea kayak coaches as we venture into diverse Level 1 environments, ensuring you can bolster your skills with confidence. Additionally, youβll have time between programs to practice what you have been working on, further solidifying your abilities.
WHAT 2 EXPECT
Designed for participants who have completed the Paddle Canada Level 1 skills program but lack the confidence to apply their learned techniques in diverse locations and conditions, this one program is your solution. It immerses paddlers in various venues to enhance their comprehension of the dynamic ocean environment. Given the ever-changing nature of this environment, the program introduces situational awareness to help paddlers understand what they see, why it occurs, and, crucially, what consequences might arise if they choose to navigate their kayak in such conditions.
rogram Venues
We have a number of different venues that can be utilized during the program. Venues are chosen based on the needs of the student as well as weather forecast. Possible locations:
Terrance Bay β rock hopping, confidence and control
West Dover β rock hopping, confidence and control
Clam Harbour β kayak surfing
Sambro Island β On water leadership, confidence and control
Equipment Requirements
Students are required to have all their own paddling gear to participate in this program.
