Description:
This workshop is for beginner & intermediate intaglio printers and those curious about the technique. No previous experience is required. The workshop starts with the history of the Intaglio printing process and related techniques, including a look at some original intaglio prints in the Museum’s collection. The class will spend time working on printing plates, and then printing from them. We will make drypoint engravings on Plexiglas plates, which will be supplied. Come with an idea for a simple design to work from such as a line drawing or clip-art. You are welcome to experiment. Attendees will have some time during breaks to explore the Museum. Attendees may wish to bring some kind of scribing tool (such as X-ACTO, nail, or steel point) though tools will also be available at the Museum.
