A young English girl is sent away to a New York boarding school by her wealthy father, as he goes off to fight in World War One. But when he becomes a casualty of war, the jealous and cruel headmistress turns her into a servant. With her power of imagination, the girl struggles to find her inner strength.
Why we're showing it: A wonderous and imaginative children's film, A Little Princess also happens to be the English language film debut of legendary director Alfonso Cuarón. Bringing his trademark visual flair to the film, it was nominated for two Academy Awards in Art Direction and Cinematography.
