Sunday, August 24, 2025 at 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM PDT
1181 Walnut Ave.
Vallejo, CA 94592
We are excited to welcome once again, the Oakland Jazz Choir to beautiful St. Peter’s Chapel. This exciting jazz choir delivers exquisite multi-part harmonies, performing original and contemporary arrangements from the bebop era to modern day jazz and pop with songs by hit makers such as Antonio Carlos Jobim, Dizzy Gillespie, Pat Metheny & Freddie Mercury. This concert will feature songs popular during WWII, as part of the 80th anniversary commemorating the end of the war, including My Funny Valentine and I’m Beginning to See the Light.
The OJC has been an East Bay institution for almost 30 years. During this span, the group has taken many shapes, sizes, and forms, but the common denominator has always been the same: Joy of expression, using the voice to communicate the triumphs, as well as the turbulence, of the human spirit. They are committed to bringing vocal jazz performance and education to underserved audiences in the Bay Area and beyond.
The doors will open at 2:30pm to give you ample time to experience the luminous Tiffany stained glass windows in St. Peter’s.
