SUMMER COURSE: Ashtanga yoga foundation/beginners (4-sessions)

Foundation (beginner's) courses cover the basics of Ashtanga yoga and are suitable for complete beginners as well as those who practice other types of yoga but would like to learn the Ashtanga yoga method thoroughly from scratch. This is a shorter course that runs for 4 weeks starting on Monday 11 August 2025 at 17:15.

We begin with a short introduction to yoga philosophy followed by a gradual learning of the Sun Salutations and some standing asanas (postures) of the Ashtanga yoga primary series as well as some finishing postures. We focus on learning he basics of ashtanga, in particular on linking breath and movement. We also cover Bandha (energy locks in the body) and Drishti (focus). Most importantly, you will learn how to practice and move safely to avoid injury and to build both strength and flexibility over time.

Time and date: Mondays 17:15-18:45, 4 sessions starting 11 August 2025

Price: 650 SEK (20% student and senior discounts are available). In addition to the course session, one FREE Mysore class per week is included in the course price.
