Theological Education with Adults - A Deep Dive into the Gospel of John

This event will be available in person and online!
The Gospel of John stands apart from the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark, and Luke) in both style and content. It emphasizes Jesus' divine nature more explicitly, beginning with the profound theological statement, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" (John 1:1). John focuses on Jesus' identity as the Son of God through unique "I Am" statements, lengthy discourses, and symbolic miracles, rather than parables. It also features intimate dialogues, such as Jesus' conversation with Nicodemus and the Samaritan woman, and highlights themes of light, life, and love. Unlike the Synoptics, which emphasize the Kingdom of God, John centers on Jesus as the revelation of God, making it a deeply theological and reflective Gospel.
The Rev. Dr. Allison deForest will be the guest lecturer for this event. You may register using the below link.
