The much-anticipated Art of Jazz Series is where art and music come together in perfect harmony. Presented in partnership with the Gibbes Museum, this annual three-concert series features original jazz compositions inspired by works from the museum’s collection. We’re excited to kick off the 2025 Art of Jazz Series with multi-faceted pianist, bassist, and composer Jonathan Lovett. This one-of-a-kind musical experience has become a crowd favorite and tends to sell out quickly.
About the Performer:
Jonathan Lovett started playing piano at the age of 4 in his hometown of San Diego, CA and studied jazz at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. Regarded by his peers as an extraordinary talent, Jonathan is a very active member of the Charleston music scene, performing and recording with various musicians of many genres. Recently, he completed a highly successful European tour with internationally renowned blues guitarist, Eric Gales.
