Night Sky Viewing ~ Niabi Zoo Parking Lot

Please join us at the Niabi Zoo Parking Lot after 8:00PM on August 16 for a tour of the summer night sky. Venus may be visible briefly. The Moon will be a nice object to view followed by Saturn and Neptune. Other objects we'll look for are M11 (Wild Duck Cluster, a wonderful open cluster), M13 (Hercules Cluster), M22 (Sagittarius Cluster), and the Garnet Star, (one of the reddest known stars). Many other beautiful deep sky objects should be visible weather permitting. Knowledgeable club members will have telescopes including the PACMO (mobile observatory) set up. If you have a telescope bring it along and join us.

Please keep in mind restroom facilities are not available. Weather related updates will be posted on August 16 if needed. FREE & FAMILY FRIENDLY.
