In South Africa, many disadvantaged schoolgirls miss classes during menstruation due to a lack of sanitary pads, leading to discomfort and shame. To address this issue, we launched our Sanitary Wear Campaign in 2021, helping approximately 400 girls aged 12 to 16 each year. Besides providing sanitary pads, we educate them about their menstrual cycle and proper disposal methods. We were surprised to find that some girls lacked knowledge about their cycle, but we are pleased that they are now informed. This community outreach program not only supplies sanitary products but also empowers girls to continue their education without fear or embarrassment. With donations from individuals, companies, and clubs, we create care packages with a month’s worth of supplies and deliver additional pads to schools.
