Level 6 Specialist Diploma for Trauma Informed Practice in Counselling

A practical skills-based course designed to inform and empower individuals to respond effectively to vulnerable people who have experienced trauma and/or have mental health issues by delivering interventions addressing mild to
moderate mental health problems, with a focus on recovery.

We will start by looking at developmental trauma and how this manifests and presents in an individual. We will explore trauma by shifting the dialogue from “What’s wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?”
