Sacred Song School: Heartsong Sessions with Shola - September 2025

Shola has been traversing the globe learning and sharing ancient, new and original folk songs with people from all walks of life. In this 4 week course we will focus on learning a repertoire of heart songs that can be shared in song circles, prayers and daily life.
You do not need to be a singer or musician to partake in this course, all levels new and advanced are welcome! We will create a sacred space together and sing our hearts out!

A 4 week online course (not in-person)
Tuesday, September 2, 9, 16, 23 at 7pm EST
$88 for all 4 classes or $30 a class
A Zoom Meetings video recording will be made for each class and shared with participants. Participants can also sign up retroactively for past classes and receive recordings.
About the Sacred Song School:
With reverence and respect to the original peoples and their ancestral language, the mission of the sacred song school is to learn from one another and embrace what makes each culture a unique treasure to humanity. Like beautiful birds living in one forest, we admire their differences and celebrate what makes each one so special and colorful. With that enthusiasm and love, we invite in the sacred songs of the earth to be shared at the Golden Drum. The Sacred Song School aims to host teachers from world traditions as well as student teachers who carry these songs with reverence and respect. We make sure that all music shared in these classes are culturally responsible and are shared with proper permission and song author acknowledgement.
Music is one of the deepest forms of prayer and healing that we carry with us throughout our lives. To learn, carry and sing a sacred song is an ability we all have, we simply need to tap into it. We invite you to tap into your own ability to welcome sacred song as a study, practice, and way of prayer and expression. Each class will focus on a selection of songs, where we will learn the pronunciation, translation, and intention of the songs and cover the melodic and rhythmic structure of singing the song or chant.
This class will be broadcast live on Zoom and NOT IN-PERSON. A class recording will be sent to all participants who register online. A link to join will be sent prior to class.
