Forest-Based Opportunities in Dover Township - Neighborhood Gathering and Info Session

Come learn about the exciting projects at Solid Ground Farm and give your input and feedback. We were recently awarded a competitive grant from the Abandoned Mine Land Economic Revitalization program to increase recreational and economic opportunities in Dover Township. These funds will create a forest products processing facility and public-access recreation pond and hiking trail on Barnes Rd (off of Mill Creek Rd). With these and other grant funds, we are working to create a neighborhood forest products industry that focuses on turning forest and orchard-grown fruit and nuts into quality food, drink, medicine and building/textile materials. We are hoping that this new facility will present opportunities for everyone in the neighborhood, but we understand that it could also increase traffic along Mill Creek, increase land values and taxes, etc. Please come give your input and help ensure the project benefits us all.
