2025 Razor's Rumble All-comers match and contests

The Vermilion Voles Vintage Base Ball Club will be hosting the Annual Razor Rumble at Kennekuk Cove County Park on Saturday October 11. This is a come one, come all event for vintage base ball players and spectators throughout the Illinois, Indiana, and Missouri region. This gathering is named in honor of the Voles' late co-founding member, Ron "Razor" Crick (pictured with this post). Razor graced the Voles' roster for several years after the club's 2003 inaugural season. After retiring from the field, Razor used his sharp wit to umpire several matches throughout the Midwest for a number of summers.
Matches will begin on October 11 at noon Central Time. Along with the usual gaggle of fun-loving ball players, this event also welcomes newcomers. It will be an excellent opportunity to give the vintage game a try and meet the unique personalities that make this grand game such a hoot.
Along with matches, the day will include a variety of tests of speed, strength, and accuracy. Wagering on these contests will be greatly encouraged.
The playing fields at Kennekuk are located across from the Ironwood Springs Lake Mingo Boat Access parking area along the park's main road, approximately two miles from the park's main entrance on 22296 Henning Road, Danville, IL 61834.
